The Adams Report by J.C. Adams
February 20 - 26, 2006
Let's check in with the gay porn grapevine this week, shall we? The jungle vine is thrumming with bits about Boy George, Owen Hawk, Wilifred Knight, Brandon Lee and Michael Lucas (naturally!) not to mention Jason Branch, Jean-Daniel Cadinot and Caesar. Plus, we update you on where to find some of your favorite flicks and slip in a blind item or two. Come on in, the water's fine!
PEOPLE ARE TALKING
* That marvelously endowed porn legend is serious about mounting (so to speak) a comeback in the right project. We've all been down this road before, though, so don't get out the lube just yet.
* The gay porn studio landscape is about to dramatically change. Watch for details to trickle out in the next few weeks.
* Agent David Forest's pimping/pandering trial wasn't the only courtroom showdown involving GayPornLand's power players; another is set for early April but some of the participants are hoping for a mutually beneficial settlement to avoid a potentially embarrassing and costly trial. Stay tuned.
* Rascal Video Exclusive Brandon Lee did not quit the biz, as some gossip wags have claimed. As we recently reported, he's merely taking a break from the skin trade to attend flight school!
* Speaking of schooling, everyone's favorite all-around topman, Jason Branch, is about to attend grad school to pursue a Master of Science degree in counseling. Afterwards, he tells me, "I will then take the California State exam to get my license as a therapist. I want to work with gay men on issues regarding sexuality, communication and intimacy." His schoolwork means he will go into semiretirement except for the occasional flick here and there. I've interviewed Mr. Branch and worked with him on a few flicks; he's a great guy and an easy conversationalist. He will make for a great therapist.
* Directing legend Jean-Daniel Cadinot has written his memoirs but can't find a North American publisher for them.
* "New York Daily News" gossip Ben Widdicombe recently snarked that Boy George, in light of his recent legal woes, can at least take comfort in his GAYVN nod for Best Music (shared with the mononamed "Twin") for Lucas Entertainment's MANHATTAN HEAT. I'm sure Mr. Widdicombe was being sincere...
* Director/performer Michael Lucas is the subject of a documentary currently being shot by indie filmmaker Jarrah Gurrie.
* Lucas Entertainment Exclusive Wilifred Knight has a cameo in the video for Madonna's "Sorry" (watch for him getting pulled into Madge's party van about halfway through the clip).
* The "Yale Journal of Law and Feminism" recently presented "Sex for Sale: A Symposium Introducing Cutting-Edge Research on Commodified Sex," which covered "pornography [and] a panel on prostitution" among other topics, per their website. Michael Lucas was among the featured speakers. This is his second appearance at Yale, following an April 2005 "Master's Tea" interview.
* Distributors Celluloid Dreams has picked up "Quinceanera," the indie film written and directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland (nee Wash West), for international sales. No North American deal is yet in place for the flick, which won both the audience award and the grand jury prize at the recently concluded Sundance Film Festival.
* Owen Hawk, a three-time GAYVN nominee this year, was just named the 2006 NakedSwordsman of the Year by NakedSword.com. And it couldn't happen to a more deserving horndog!
* Musclebound stud Caesar was recently impersonated on MySpace.com (the impostor site has since been deleted). As noted a couple weeks ago by Jason Sechrest on JasonCurious.com, only the "CaesarWorld" Myspace profile is the real deal; anything else is a fake. Mr. Sechrest went on to reveal that Falcon Exclusive hottie Erik Rhodes was also recently impersonated on Myspace and that "there must be twenty-five Mark Dalton's." He concludes with the notion that "the bodybuilding jocks of gay porn are not just the objects of everyone's affection, but also their insanity." He's right. Although every gay porn celebrity attracts his share of the nutsos, it's also true that the bigger and more muscular these guys get, the more they attract a particular brand of crazy from the lunatic fringe.

BREAKING INDUSTRY NEWS
HOLLYWOOD -- The Army has formally charged seven paratroopers from the famed 82nd Airborne Division with participating in filmed sex acts for money. Three of the soldiers will face courts-martial on sodomy and pandering charges; four others will receive "nonjudicial punishments" which can include "reduction to the rank of private, 45 days of restriction to the unit area, 45 days of extra duty and forfeiture of a month's pay," according to a report released Friday. Additionally, all seven soldiers face discharge.

The Adams Report by J.C. Adams
February 13 - 19, 2006
What a goddamn week! Agent David Forest was found not guilty on four charges of pimping and pandering that could have sent him to jail for twelve years; Dark Alley Media had their director and a performer arrested in a police raid; performer Luca DiCorso turns up in "Vanity Fair" selling sunglasses; and Michael Lucas hires a controversial new exclusive who is making tabloid headlines for an alleged bareback tryst with a massively popular singer. And that was just by Wednesday. How was YOUR week?
LUCA'S EYES
I wrote a few columns back about Rascal Video Exclusive Luca DiCorso being handpicked by designer Tom Ford to model his new line of eyewear. Mr. DiCorso, along with a couple of hetero porn starlets and ex-Rascal Exclusive Eddie Stone, were photographed by Jeff Burton in the Hollywood Hills late last summer. Mr. Stone and one of the starlets didn't make the final product, a layout in a recent issue of "GQ" in which Mr. DiCorso is identified only as "Luca." His gay skinflick stardom is not mentioned, either. Flash to Mr. Ford's "Hollywood" issue of "Vanity Fair" and there's Mr. DiCorso's face, upside-down, with the tips of his knees visible, modeling Tom Ford Eyewear. Congrats for the prime gig! Rascal's directrix Chi Chi LaRue says that Mr. DiCorso will also appear in a layout in the March issue of "Instinct," and (whew!) he also nabbed a slot in the "Paper" mag "Tribes of L.A." layout alongside Ms. LaRue, Mr. Stone and Rascal Exclusive Johnny Hazzard (they're bare-assed in that one…) They're all online at RascalVideo.com.
DARK ALLEY ARRESTS
As originally reported on our "Adams Report by J.C. Adams" website (GayPornWriter.blogspot.com), performer and Dark Alley Media co-founder Owen Hawk revealed that on January 31st, performers Supreme (a/k/a "Castro") and Matthew Green (a/k/a director "Matthias von Fistenberg") were arrested and handcuffed by New Rochelle, New York police officers on the set of the Dark Alley Media/Pitbull Productions film THE SHOW: PARTS I and II. Both were briefly jailed on grounds of public lewdness.
"We were shooting a scene in a private mansion in New Rochelle that we had legally rented for the week," Owen Hawk told me. "I turned around from operating the camera and there was a policeman standing there. They claimed they could clearly see in through the windows, even though we had taped plastic to all but one window which no one could see in." Mr. Hawk explains the police officer contended a crowd had gathered outside to watch and allegedly "this crowd included children."
Officers verified IDs from the cast and crew and "after ascertaining that we were in the house legally and that we were all of age, they nonetheless arrested" Supreme and Mr. Green. The performers were later fined for disorderly conduct. Mr. Hawk notes "the story made the New Rochelle papers two days in a row, and the local news every half hour. WASP-y neighbors were interviewed saying they were shocked and disappointed. Police cars circled the house. We had every window plastic-wrapped so that we could finish the movie. The good news is that the movie looks great!" That's our boy, always looking on the bright side.
"Dark Alley Media and Pitbull contend that sex between consenting adults on private property is not illegal in the state of New York," Pitbull claimed in a statement released to "The Adams Report" earlier in the week. "All 'onlookers' in this case were engaging in acts of voyeurism on private property."
Pitbull spokesperson Pat R. says the onlookers "felt like a cast of thousands. Some people were actually applauding, but someone decided to call the police." One of the crew members innocently opened the door to the police upon their arrival. "He figured because it was so cold outside they'd want to get inside quickly and warm up! When they walked inside and saw all of these Black and Latin men standing around with their dicks hanging out, I can't imagine what they must have thought." Investigate further at DarkAlleyMedia.com or Pitbull-Productions.com.
MICHAEL AND JOHN AND CLAY
The week before last I did some calling around to find out whether any gay studio had designs on hiring a one John Paulus, the ex-Green Beret who is making tabloid headlines for allegedly engaging in a night of bareback sex with singer Clay Aiken in a North Carolina hotel room. He's apparently got a semen-soaked towel and emails to back up his case. I spoke with director Gino Colbert on the record, and a few others who didn't want to be quoted, and no one had heard anything. I didn't contact Michael Lucas at Lucas Entertainment. So, naturally, a few days later, Mr. Lucas called to tell me he was signing Mr. Paulus to an exclusive contract.
Messrs. Paulus and Lucas appeared on the Howard Stern radio show Thursday, February 9th (he also appeared on the "Derek and Romaine" show on Sirius OutQ satellite radio). And any day now Mr. Paulus will film his first scene with the company. Of course I had to get the scoop! In an exclusive interview with "The Adams Report by J.C. Adams," Michael Lucas explains that Mr. Paulus "came to us. I listened to his story. And I have to be honest, I felt a little bit sorry for him. I wanted to help him out. I believe him."
Mr. Paulus says he has accepted no money from any tabloid to tell his story, including "The National Enquirer" and "Page Six" in the "New York Post." He claims he was recently fired from his job in real estate due in part to his notoriety as well as alleged harassment from outraged fans of Mr. Aiken. Michael Lucas has read some of the emails Mr. Paulus produced as proof of the harassment. "You wouldn't believe some of the things these people are saying," he says. "It's unbelievable."
Mr. Lucas describes Mr. Paulus as "a simple guy who was star-struck and made some really bad decisions," including alleged bareback sex with the singer. "He is accepting full responsibility for his actions. I want you to know that about him. That's part of the reason why he accepted no money from these tabloids. He knows he did a stupid thing and he is owning up to it like a man should."
As to why he is moving into a career as a porn actor, Mr. Paulus explained, through Mr. Lucas, that the idea "was always a fantasy of mine. I never had the chance to fulfill it because I was in the military, and then in real estate. But now? What have I got to lose?" Michael Lucas adds, "John doesn't have a job right now. Where is he going to go to get work? He has a fantastic body and he says this has been a fantasy of his, so why not take advantage of what is available to him?" Definitely stay tuned for more details!
DAVID FOREST: NOT GUILTY
The big-big-REALLY-big news this week had everyone on pins and needles awaiting the outcome of the David Forest trial. The uber-agent was charged with two charges apiece of pimping and pandering that carried a maximum of twelve years in prison if he was found guilty. The jury deliberated for three full days and the grapevine was thrumming back and forth and back again as GayPornLand awaited the verdict. It finally arrived Wednesday: Not guilty on all counts.
In an email forwarded to industry insiders, Mr. Forest declared, "I've been vindicated. 'Meet the Stars' has been vindicated. It's a legal introduction program where the fans of the top XXX stars can pay to be introduced to their favorites. This is a victory for the entire adult business, and, certainly, a very major victory for me."
"The Adams Report" spoke with Mr. Forest soon after the verdicts were returned. "I was so scared," he confessed. "When the jury returned I was holding onto my lawyer! And when the court clerk began to read the verdicts, I admit I was scared. I never thought I was guilty, not from day one, especially when I read the actual charges. But I was worried, of course. This is such a relief. I'm so happy it's all finally over. This was a complete and total vindication."
And the band played on.
Porn Star Birthdays for February 13 through February 19: Tomas Belko, Ulizes Carpelli, Gustavo Ferreira, Daniel Kilmer, Sean Madar, Wayne Montgomery (February 13); Jason Hawke, Mike Kennedy, Jason Knight, Joey Lismir, Nicholas Moore, Christopher Scott, Braden Stone, the late Geoffrey Karen Dior (aka Rick Van), Grant Wood (February 14); Devon Auston, Chris Bolt, Eduardo, Troy Punk, Joe Romero (February 15); David Chelsea, Renato di Giorgio, Aaron Tanner (Feb. 16); Dave Brooks, Ian Curtis, Anton Harri, Eric Magyar, Scott Ryan (Feb. 17); Chris Baldwin, Flex Gamble, Maverick Reynolds, Emilio Sands, Tony Serrano, Steeve Thifault, Lucas Young (Feb. 18); Lance Hancock, Junior, Nick Lord, Bruce Matthews (Feb. 19).

BREAKING INDUSTRY NEWS
NEW YORK CITY -- Continuing a tumultuous week for the gay adult industry, performer and Dark Alley Media co-founder Owen Hawk reveals that on January 31st, performers Supreme (a/k/a "Castro") and Matthew Green (a/k/a director "Matthias von Fistenberg") were arrested and handcuffed by New Rochelle, New York police officers on the set of the Dark Alley Media/Pitbull Productions film THE SHOW: PARTS I and II. Both were briefly jailed on grounds of public lewdness.
"We were shooting a scene in a private mansion in New Rochelle that we had legally rented for the week," Owen Hawk told "The Adams Report by J.C. Adams" today.
The good news is that the movie looks great!"
"Dark Alley Media and Pitbull contend that sex between consenting adults on private property is not illegal in the state of New York," Pitbull claimed in a statement released to "The Adams Report" today.
"He figured because it was so cold outside they'd want to get inside quickly and warm up. When they walked inside and saw all of these Black and Latin men standing around with their dicks hanging out, I can't imagine what they must have thought."

BREAKING INDUSTRY NEWS
NEW YORK CITY -- Lucas Entertainment has added John Paulus to their roster of exclusive performers. Mr. Paulus is a former Green Beret who is currently making headlines for an alleged one-night-stand with singer Clay Aiken. Mr. Paulus and Lucas Entertainment president Michael Lucas were set to appear on the Howard Stern radio show Thursday, February 9th. Afterwards, Mr. Paulus was scheduled to film his first scene for Lucas Entertainment.
In an exclusive interview with "The Adams Report by J.C. Adams," Michael Lucas explains that Mr. Paulus "came to us. I listened to his story. And I have to be honest, I felt a little bit sorry for him. I wanted to help him out. I believe him."
Mr. Paulus says he has accepted no money from any tabloid to tell his story, including "The National Enquirer" and "Page Six" in the "New York Post." He claims he was recently fired from his job in real estate due in part to his notoriety as well as alleged harrassment from outraged fans of Mr. Aiken. The Adams Report by J.C. Adams
February 6 - 12, 2006
It was a jumpin' week in GayPornLand packed with bitching and brewing scandal (on two fronts) plus the GAYVN nominations—and not all of the grousing was about who was (or was not) nominated, either. A pop singer gets fingered (ha-ha) by a trick in the tabs, agent David Forest's fate will soon lie in the hands of a jury of his peers in Van Nuys Superior Court and the horndog readers of this column pick their favorites for Performer of the Year and Best Newcomer. Yep, just another week in gay adult entertainment.
Oh, and straight porn colossus Vivid Entertainment made it official this week: They're going condom-optional. As a consequence they also said goodbye to marquee director Chi Chi LaRue, who will not direct a sex scene unless the male performers are wrapped in rubber. The directrix, a recent AVN nominee for Vivid's SENTENCED starring Sunrise Adams, is talking deals as we speak with Vivid's rivals. But of course this is not news to you fine folks, as the "Adams Report" had the scoop before anyone else.
BEST OF 2005
The fans have spoken! Hundreds of you horndogs were quite vocal about your picks for Performer of the Year and Best Newcomer. Some of your comments will run in an upcoming column. Here are your winners: Michael Brandon for Performer of the Year and Roman Heart as Best Newcomer. Congrats, boys! Both gents get a copy of the 2006 Adam Gay Video Directory and bragging rights for twelve months. Many, many thanks to those of you who took a moment to participate. Stay tuned for analysis and exclusive interviews with your winners.
CLAY AIKEN: GAY OR NAY?
If you follow the gossip websites then you've likely already heard about John Paulus, the former Green Beret who allegedly hooked up with Clay Aiken in a North Carolina hotel room, allegedly engaged in bareback sex with him, allegedly kept a washrag doused with Mr. Aiken's DNA (oy...) and then told all to the "National Enquirer." Why am I talking about this in a porn column? Because "Page Six" wrote this past week that the loose-lipped hunk "may reenact the romp in a porn movie." Sayeth Mr. Paulus, "I haven't ruled it out." In the meantime he's milking his fifteen minutes with an appearance on the "Derek & Romaine Show" on Sirius OutQ satellite radio, which itself was a plug for his February 9th appearance on the Howard Stern radio show.
So I did some legwork to find out which gay porn studio had approached Mr. Paulus with an offer. Clearly the guy would ask for the moon and there are only a handful of studios with that kind of cash. But no one fessed up (at least, not yet…) In fact, it's not even clear he wants to do a gay skin flick. Presumably he was not considering hetero porn, but who knows?
Director Gino Colbert, who is making the rounds promoting his new movie FOUR SCORE, hadn't heard a peep. "If this guy's going to do porn, I hope he gets a good moneymaking deal for himself," Mr. Colbert advises, "because once he does porn he'll put himself in a non-mainstream acting category." And how!
Mr. Colbert has some experience in these matters. He was the producer of 1994's JOHN WAYNE BOBBITT: UNCUT(remember that guy?) which per Mr. Colbert "moved over 250,000 VHS [units] within a six-month period" making it one of the best-selling porn titles of all time. As for Mr. Paulus and his alleged porn aspirations, Mr. Colbert says he "has no idea which company, if any, would take on this guy. Who could or would give him a good deal or meet his demands? Maybe a distributor owned by straights might consider backing such a project." Stay tuned for further developments.
BRANDON IS IN-APPROPRIATE
This past weekend I enjoyed an early breakfast with our Performer of the Year, Michael Brandon, at EatWell in West Hollywood, one of our favorite haunts. He was in town to promote HEATSTROKE HIGHWAY, the first film from the Youthful Offenders line newly launched by Raging Stallion Studios (who also distribute Mr. Brandon's Monster Bang Video). Helmed by Lester Moore, who migrated from the hetero side of the street, HEATSTROKE HIGHWAY features RSS Exclusives Justin Christopher and Marcos Pirelli (yum…) with Damon DeMarco, Derrik Hanson, Jack London, Brett Matthews, Lex Sabre and Rico Suave. The new line, per Mr. Brandon, is "a twist on the Raging Stallion formula." He says it's younger and more atmospheric than the typical RSS film and represents an attempt to "broaden the kinds of films we do without stepping too far away what makes us so popular with our fans."
And speaking of popularity, studio head Chris Ward recently dropped a note to remind that his 100th film as director is fast approaching. Back to Michael Brandon, who appeared at "Cocktails with the Stars" at Micky's nightclub and then Jason Sechrest's KSEX.com radio show the following day. He says a top-to-bottom relaunch of his website (XXXmichaelbrandon.com) is forthcoming and told me his "INappropriate Behavior" fundraiser, a popular staple of the annual Bad Boys Pool Party, will migrate to San Francisco on its own over the Fourth of July weekend now that producer Will Clark has elected not to organize another edition of the BBPP this year. Check out RagingStallion.com and YouthfulOffenders.com for more details.
MILITARY PORN SCANDAL
"Army officials are investigating allegations that members of the celebrated 82nd Airborne Division appear on a gay pornography website," intoned a recent Associated Press newswire story. "Authorities at Fort Bragg have begun an inquiry into whether the paratroopers' actions violate the military conduct code."
Although the AP story does not name a specific site, they describe it as "military-themed" with a registered owner in Fayetteville, which adjoins Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Thus it took my pals at Fleshbot.com all of ten seconds to check the registration of Dink Flamingo's ActiveDuty.com and uncover the site's domain registration in...North Carolina. Add to this fact that ActiveDuty.com went offline soon after this latest scandal hit the wires (it remains open only to registered members).
Quipped Fleshbot, "Active Duty is pretty much the only [site] that consistently features models who actually look like they've gone AWOL for a few hours to film some hot soldier-on-soldier action." Plus, various gay porn message boards are filled with scoop from guys who were online at ActiveDuty when the story broke. Honestly, this kind of thing hits gay porn every few years. Some online conspiracy theorists are proposing that the government is looking for a "Wag the Dog" scandal to distract from the real issues at hand. We'll find out soon enough.
DAVID FOREST ON TRIAL
Agent David Forest's trial for pandering and other charges got underway two weeks ago in Van Nuys, California Superior Court. At the conclusion of the first week of testimony, Mr. Forest emailed a few folks in the industry with his thoughts on how things are looking so far, and he was not happy. He slammed the prosecution's first witness, a performer whose name I won't mention here until the trial's conclusion. Mr. Forest also revealed he has already pleaded guilty to a possession charge to avoid drug charges coming up in the current pandering trial. He notes in the email, "I'm eligible for diversion and no incarceration, depending on the outcome of the other four counts." I should state in the interest of full disclosure that Mr. Forest's attorney interviewed me as an industry expert and potential defense witness, but declined to put me on the stand.
GAYVN NOMS
We'll have more detailed analysis next week, but the nominees for the 8th Annual GAYVN Awards unspooled as expected. Instead, the big question swirled around which megabudget epic would snag the most nods—and now we have our answer. Lucas Entertainment's DANGEROUS LIAISONS won 13 nominations, followed closely by Rascal Video's WRONG SIDE OF THE TRACKS two-parter with 12 citations and Raging Stallion Studios' ARABESQUE at 11 noms.
Other high-profile pics scored pretty well for themselves: BEYOND PERFECT (Buckshots Productions) earned nine noms; CIRQUE NOIR (Titan Media) racked up eight; while WET PALMS 7-9 (Jet Set Productions) and DIRTY LITTLE SINS (Red Devil Entertainment) snagged seven apiece.
It looks like Gus Mattox and Jacob Slader swiped five nominations apiece to lead all performers. Mr. Slader earned nods for Best Supporting Actor for DIRTY LITTLE SINS; Best Group Scene (shared for Titan's GALE FORCE: MEN'S ROOM II); two Best Oral Scene nods (shared for Rascal's WSOTT and Mustang Studios' BANG! BANG!); and Performer of the Year.
Gus Mattox was cited for Best Actor (Lucas' DANGEROUS LIAISONS), Best Group Scene (shared for Titan's GALE FORCE), Best Sex Scene (shared for THROUGH THE WOODS from Jocks Studios), Best Threesome (again for LIAISONS) and Performer of the Year. A hearty congrats to all the nominees.
Porn Star Birthdays from February 6 through February 12: Troy Halston, Blake Kennedy, Lucio Maverick, Sylvio Pantera, Brad Phillips, Timmy Thomas, Jed Willcox (Feb. 6); Benn Davis, Nick DiBona, Luciano Endino, Vince Harrington (aka Lana Luster), Justin Southall (Feb. 7); Sebastian Cruz, Stetson Gable, Cutter Knight, Nick Mancini, Giuseppe Piccoli, Erik Rhodes, Zephyr (Feb. 8); Joshua Berlin, Michael Brandon, Ruslan Peterko, Arthur Roth, Brandon Weber (February 9); Charlie Boy, Brent Everett, Casey Jordan, Jason Keller, Dan Lyons, Daniel Magam, Slava Petrovich, Diego Sanchez, Vince Taylor (February 10); Sam Bare, Beau Greene, Eric Marx, Domingo Montero, Ray Phillips, Jackson Reid, Hal Rockland, Eddie Schulz (February 11); Chad Johnson, Tim Lowe, Corey Stevens (February 12).
